Sky Adventure Club's Annual Dinner 2013!

                It was that time of the year again, as the end of 2013 approached, the Sky Adventure Club held its very own annual dinner for all members and alumni to attend. With several successful events under its belt for 2013, the club had plenty of reasons to celebrate the year, and what better way than to have a sumptuous buffet at our very own Taylor’s University Temptations? Organized by Blossom (Tan Yee Wen), the annual dinner featured a range of delicious catered food and performances by members of the club.

                The theme for the dinner was ‘movie characters’, and members showed up in all kinds of costumes, from Pua Chu Kang to a horse. The annual dinner was first kicked off by an opening speech made by the President of the Taylor’s University SAC, Hydro. A brief but fun introductory session was then held, to help warm everyone up to each other. Members from Taylor’s College SAC attended as well, all dressed as their respective characters.

                Before it is forgotten, what would the annual dinner be if there wasn’t any food? With stomachs growling and appetites to sate, the food was prepared and ready to be dug in. Amongst the dishes served were; lamb chop, prawns, fried rice, vegetables and a host of other food including pumpkin soup and dessert as well. The restaurant was filled with laughter and chatter, as members ate to their hearts delight and eager to enjoy the night.

                With everyone’s belly full, a host of games were then organized by Waze for everyone to play. Some of the games played were 'musical chairs' and 'blow wind blow'.

                At last, with everyone still cheery from the games, two skits were performed by members. Divided into two teams; that were girls & guys, the competition was on. The guys performed first, a skit about the story of Harry Potter and Hitler who are battling it out in a good against evil setting, with various other movie characters helping one against the other. The girls on the other hand, used the plot of Phua Chu Kang, a very famous contractor whom goes to great lengths to find his beloved princess.

                The performances was followed by a touching and at times funny slideshow prepared by our very own Seal & Hybrid, portraying the experience that the Sky Adventure Club has had. After the slideshow, a surprise birthday celebration was given to Knight, Chigga and Kina whose birthday fell on December.

What's a birthday without getting creamed?

                As many of us are students, it is inevitable that we have to part one day, whether it is to work or to further our studies overseas and as it is, 3 of our members were given a surprise farewell ceremony. Pokemon, Hybrid and Player were invited to make a short speech, and were given customized Sky Adventure Club poker cards as a token of remembrance and SAC love.

As the evening drew to a close, the prize giving ceremony was held for the Best Dressed title and the Best Performance. For the Best Dressed, the award went to Seal who came as Jack Sparrow and Chigga was a grandma from a popular TV series. The Best Performance award went to Team Taboo, marking it the second time in a row that Taboo's team had won for Best Performance.

At last, Blossom, the organizer of the dinner eventually came on stage to deliver her closing speech. With thanks sent out to everyone and farewells said, the Sky Adventure Club Annual Dinner 2013 officially came to a successful end with everyone going back that night with many memories to cherish forever.
