BattleField - On and On, We Go!

As usual, the Sky Adventure Club of Taylor's University is always on the go for a year round full of events and exciting activities.

This time, it is indeed, time for a BattleField.

Conducted by Team 2, compromised of OCP Adora, and team members Cotton, Trex, Flora and Seal; they have vigorously planned this "secret" event at Ulu Yam.

None of us knew what is going on; being only provided some general information about what to bring and so on.

On 6th of April, 27 members of SAC gathered at the campus before departing to Nur Laman Bestari Eco Resort, Batu Caves with only the slightest idea.

Upon arrival, members were greeted by the first activity at the nearby river for a bonding game, a race up the currents with a balloon stuck between a team of 2 person. From then onwards, we had some free-time, and most of us just played with the refreshing cold water while enjoying the hot sun.

After that, we had a scrumptious "Chicken Rice" for lunch before moving on to our campsite to set our tents.

Shortly after clearing our campsite and setting up our tents, it was already time to get ready for the First Activity, the "Low Challenge".

We had a short warm-up before being join by the instructors; who briefed us about the obstacle course and safety precautions. 

The course includes :

- Arch Climbing

- Balancing Plank

- Crawling through a tunnel

- Going through a hanged loop

- Climbing a set of skeletal stairs and going down

- Going through Low-Height Hanging Rope

- Crouching and going through a set of "Spider-Web" 

- Hopping through a set of tyres

- Army Crawl

- Wall Climbing 

Finally, after completing all the obstacle course, we then proceed to a mud pool where we were divided into 3 teams. Each team then have to locate 4 marble tiles that were being being spread around the pool.

Truth be told, it was not a pleasant "ordeal". 

After cleaning up, we had the time free till night. At around 8.30pm, we had the next game. "3-Things about You" where we had to talk about 3 interests about the other member. The member will be chosen randomly through a draw. And those who failed to describe the correct interests will be subject to punishment. We do so love punishments. ^^

When the game ended, we had another activity lined up, which is the "Night Walk". Everybody was blind-folded, and had to walk in the night, guided by a single string and the guidance of the person in front of them.

Teamwork and leadership is at work here, as the lead head had to warn the people behind them for any thing that they will encounter. They have to traverse the course first, guided only by the string in the dark and in a blindfolded state. They have to ensure everyone's safety, being the lead.

When the Night Walk ended, we had a short briefing on the next day activities and off to bed.

The next day, we started out early for breakfast. After a short break, we had a warm-up session before proceeding to the battle ground, for a game of Paint Ball.

The much anticipated game got us going, everyone was excited. We had 2 rounds of paintball game, in the first game, we were divided into 5 teams, and had to fight each other.

The second game, was a partner team of 2 person. 3-4 teams will be unleashed on the battle ground, where we have to "kill" our designated target before moving on to the other teams.

Overall, this game taught us to be critical minded, teamwork, communication and also vigilance. And not to forget, to be ready at all times and aware of the surroundings.

Soon after the game ended, we had our lunch before packing up our stuff and getting ready to leave for Taylor's University campus.

The  event brought us SAC members even more closer than before; the bond created between us is an unbreakable one. :)
