The RUNNING H.I.T. 2012 HAS STARTED!
Hello people, on the 24th November, the RUNNING H.I.T. 2012 has officially started. Heat up your gears and sharpen your minds, as THIS is a race to die for.
This first-of-its-kind event is a joint collaboration of 3 universities, which is Taylor's Lakeside University, INTI International University, and also HELP University. ( Refer to previous post )
The race started on a rather moody morning at Taylor's University, where all competing teams can be spotted all hyped up and ready for the race. Determination can be clearly seen on each and every one of them, as eager as they are. Some can be seen praying for good luck on their "adventure" today.
Facilitator and Station Master however are running around, checking up for last minute check-ups and making sure that all of the stations are ready and going to ensure a smooth sailing play-outs today.
CREW VS PARTICIPANTS!
Notice the excitement? Kuali, the president of the Sky Adventure Club of Taylor's University gave the instructions to all the participants. In addition, he also explained the rules and regulations, to ensure the safety of the participants and also the safety of the public.
A series of warm-ups came up. And then.....
STAAARRRTTTT!! A crew shouted to commenced the starting of the race. Everybody ran to the starting point and engaged in the first game.Everybody was busy and seems into the game. Teamwork can be seen here. It is at stake, It will determine the winning team. Work hard and good luck, people!
The race continued on without waiting for any teams. The first few teams who made it faster than the rest made their way through the clue to South Quay, Sunway City. They followed the leads there and proceeded with more challenging tasks; tasks that critically tests on their teamwork, strength, stamina, leadership and critical thinking.
What is more? Once they are done with the obstacles and challenges in South Quay, they have to move to Sunway Pyramid and start their new adventure there. One interesting fact is that they are supposed to find their own way or means of transportation while moving from one spot to another spot. Some teams were running all the way from Taylor's University to Sunway Pyramid, and some took public transportation.
It was based on the groups' decision whether to use up their resources or to keep them for later use.
Once in Sunway Pyramid, the participants were not allowed to run, and are required to walk around instead as to not bother the public and to not cause any damages around.
The public were eyeing participants as the participants, accompanied by their facilitator walking around in the big monumental mall, searching for the clues to further proceed with the race. Such a sight. Needless to say, curiosity got the best to some of the public people, that some asked questions about the event, and even started taking photos.
After completing their objective in Sunway Pyramid, the teams must now journey to Damansara, and to find the HELP University by using public transport. The first team who reaches there will gain valuable time and able to start of the challenges there before anyone else can do so.
Then from HELP University, the team must then make their way to INTI University in Nilai, where they will again need to complete several challenging tasks, in their already tired condition before retiring for the night in the hostels of INTI University.
Before the challenges commences in INTI, another series of warm-ups were given again by two members of the Sky Adventure Club of Taylor's Lakeside; Ember and Oyster.

The catching game commences!
As the day ended, the crew had a meeting to evaluate all of the teams participating before adjourning to sleep; getting ready for another long and adventurous day tomorrow.
Early in the morning, teams must then again travel a long way to the Tropicana City Mall, in Kelana Jaya by using their own means of transportation. This is the last challenge for the race, and every team were prepped up for the preparation. Upon reaching the mall, they were greeted by the sight of a beautifully decorated stage, with the Running H.I.T. logo bearing on the walls.
This marks the end of the race. Excitement accompanied by sullen and weary faces surrounds the atmosphere of the mall. People were chattering away, comparing their experiences away while waiting for the Closing Ceremony to start.
The event was then made further interesting and happening when the performances started. It was lead by groups of students from the three participating universities, and has lead the crowd to a frenzy by their energetic and energetic performances.
The closing speech was given out by an important figure, where he delivered the speech congratulating everybody of a job well done and to always keep the spirit alive inside them.
The VIP's were then given each a T-Shirt from the race as a token of appreciation before proceeded to giving out the prizes for the winning team.
Although the race was not perfect and not flawless, it was a good effort and had shown just how strong and dedicated the crew members were, who had worked diligently for the past few months in preparing for everything and making sure everything runs smoothly.
From this experience, we know that if we work together, we can achieve anything. Together we are strong; Divided we are weak.
Needless to say, we hope that such big events that collaborates many universities together may take place again in the near future to strengthen the bonds with the said universities, and also to create a dynamic group of young youths that can work together, arms in arms to achieve a higher goal.
Regards,
Pochi.
