Treasure Hunt

As always, after every recruitment drive would be treasure hunt! The purpose of having a treasure hunt was to find recruits who performed their best in terms of physical, leadership and (not so much) of thinking skills.

Members were given the opportunity to become facilitators to evaluate and get to know the future members of our club. Since there was a huge turnout this time, consisting of 93 participants, Seal decided to split the treasure hunt into two days.

The treasure hunt was organised by Kina and there were five stations in total. All the stations had different skills that were meant to be tested on the future recruits.

The first station was the watch and run station where the participants had to run around the lake three times and use their observation skills to find the station masters. They are required to recognize what the station master is wearing or the number on their jersey. If they fail to do so, they have to run around the lake again. It was fun to run and also see the participants run around the lake several times.

Next, they had to eat a banana that was suspended from the second floor. The main objective of this station was to test their teamwork. They are required to use their creativity and ensure that they finish the bananas that are suspended in the air. It eventually became one of the most interesting game ever created.

The most iconic station is the stairways to heaven. Partcipants had their legs tied up in pairs and they would have to walk up to the 8th floor but along the way, they have to find letters that will make up the name of an alumni. These letters could be found anyway on their way up, even on the steps itself.

After the physical workout, it was time to test their mental skills. There are values written on paper that were stuck on the walls of the car park. They had to find the values and use them to calculate the equation without using any phones or calculators, only their brains. It teased their eyes where they had to really look for the hidden papers.

Last but not least, it is the physical test, which was conducted by Player. It started off with burpees, half plan and they had to move horizontally from one pillar to another. The most iconic of all fitness tests, they were required to do push-ups, sit ups and squats.

Participants then assembled in the classroom when they were done and with their eyes closed, they were required to give us their honest feedback about the treasure hunt. It was great to see many thumbs up from the participants which shows that they really enjoyed the whole process.

Signing off,
Merlion.
