The Next Generation.

Just like all beginnings, there is always an ending. Two weeks ago, the Board of Directors for the years 2012 and 2013 stepped down to allow the new Board of Directors for the years 2013 and 2014 to take the lead.

This year, the installation of the new board of directors was done more formally compared to previous years, which were done via e-mail. Therefore, Hydro decided to name this event as the SAC Ceremony.

The ceremony started off with Kuali giving a brief agenda of the ceremony. The current board of director would come up to the front and personally hand over the letter to the upcoming board of director.

The first board of director to step down was the Fitness Director, Player and Scooby would be taking over his place. Scooby would be assisted by the lovely Taboo, who is the Assistant Fitness Director. Before Player handed over the letter to Taboo, she was required to perform a split, as a validation that she was fit enough for the position.

Next to step down was the Public Relations Director, Pochi who handed over his responsibilities to Merlion. Her faithful sidekick, Emcee, the Assistant Public Relations Director, would assist her in ensuring that the social matters of the club would be well taken care of.

The Quartermasters, Pixie and Don were replaced by Kiddo who would ensure that we have an adequate supply of equipment for our activities. Since Kiddo was not present, Kuali decided to draw a stick man to represent his presence.

The current Membership Director, Knight, would be taken over by Seal and the new Assistant Membership Director that would take over Volley’s place is Tarzan.

The current person dealing with the club’s financial statement is Clumsy, our beloved treasurer. Iris would be replacing her and she is now responsible to administer and manage the financial assets of our club.

The current directors who are responsible for writing out the minutes every week are the hardworking secretaries, Pokemon and Hybrid. Pokemon, the Secretary would be replaced by Chigga whereas Hybrid has chosen to step down and hand over her position and duties as the Assistant Secretary to Pokemon.

Last but not least, were the anchors of the club, the President and Vice-President. Taboo, the current Vice-President would be taken over by Blossom and, Kuali, would be taken over by Hydro.

Before Kuali and Taboo officially stepped down, they both gave a speech to express how they felt throughout their whole journey as Presidents. Taboo mentioned that she has high expectations and faith in the next generation because she personally believed that they are a strong team. As for Kuali, he said that the Sky Adventure Club members have formed a strong bond with each other and he sincerely hopes that the next generation would do a better job than the previous batch of directors. Also, he says that the club started out our connection as a loose thread that eventually it grew into a web of various strings and sometimes, strings detach themselves due to their lack of commitment or dedication. Nonetheless, the connection is not lost as the remaining members are still strongly holding onto the string that binds us together.

Hydro surprised the previous board of directors by preparing Certificates of Appreciation. Each certificate came with a personalized message that Hydro wrote himself. After handing out the certificates, Hydro wrapped up the ceremony by expressing his goals as the President of the club. He wants the club to remain closely connected to each other because he believes that the club is like a family. Hydro mentioned that he would want the Sky Adventure Club to be a learning organization that will continuously strive to improve.

With that, marked the end of the very first formal SAC Ceremony. With the next generation installed, we hope that the Sky Adventure Club will continue to excel, just like how it always has.
