The 18th of July marked the last SAC meeting we would have until the 29th of August. To commemorate this last meeting before the short break that would ensue, the Sky Adventure Club decided to have something a little different for training on that day.
Conducted by Pokemon, training that day was at Sunway Pyramid’s Laser Tag A.K.A. Barney Stinson’s favorite past time! Laser Tag, is similar to paintball, except it’s held in a dark room and is a lot flashier with laser lights emitted from the guns given to you. The primary goal of the game is to shoot your opponent’s vest (given to you before the match), which will have a sensor that switches off your ‘weapon system’ rendering you unable to use your gun or receive any damage for around 10 seconds or so.
The first round was played between two teams that are color coded. The SAC team was divided almost equally, but one of the teams had an extra member due to us having an odd number of people who joined the match. There was an estimate of 25 people or so in the match. Regardless, the match was exhilarating to say the least. The match room has a lot of barricades that can be used as a place to ‘camp’ and a lot of strategic corners that allows for close quarters combat. Basically from experience, one can choose two ways to battle in Laser Tag. Move fast and fight OR camp. From what little experience I’ve had with Laser Tag, both tactics may work well, although a balance should be found. With the matches only lasting 10 minutes per round, one would be forgiven to think that you would barely break a sweat especially in an air-conditioned room. That’s what I thought too, until I realized I was breathing heavily and sweating towards the end of the match thanks to the abundance of running and gunning I did.
The second round was something a little different from the first. Since we had 25 members who would be joining in the game, the game warden decided to split us into 5 teams. It was a whole different ball game. With 5 teams in the match room, combat was a lot more compact and intense. Frankly, half the time I didn’t know who or where I was shot from. By the end of the second match, everyone was tired and drenched in their own sweat. Needless to say, the 20minutes worth of fun filled laser tag games were more than enough for the day.
We wrapped it up by breaking fast with our fellow SAC friends who were fasting at a pasta food place in Asian Avenue of Sunway Pyramid. Full of joy and laughter, it is safe to say that the Sky Adventure Club of Taylor’s University had a very good day.

Review
Upon
review through the feedback received from contestants, all the participants
enjoyed the activity a lot. The participants also on average found that the
staff were friendly and helpful as well.
However, a lot of the participants
found the price for Laser Tag@Sunway Pyramid too be a little bit on the expensive
side. Despite this, it is safe to say that the activity was an enjoyable
success as it met the expectations of most of the participants and that the
majority would come back for Laser Tag@Sunway
Pyramid again.
The overall average score
for the activity is shown below.
Enjoyability: 4/5
Affordability: 2/5
