If there can only be one word to describe SAC, my choice of word would be a tie between “Family” and “Onz”. The former is a no-brainer; the latter is the attitude most SAC-ians possess towards spontaneous outing suggestions.
These words so aptly describe us when we went on a semi-impromptu trip to Sepang Gold Coast last Sunday. The best adventures are unplanned, they say, and this resonated with us as we were free of paperwork and the tedious process that an official activity usually entails.
11 of us left campus at 6am in a 3-car convoy and reached our destination around 7.30am. We would have loved to gush about the breathtaking scenery, the majestic deep blue ocean, the gentle sound of waves crashing against the shore, the dazzling sunlight dancing on our skin, but we can’t. The reality was, the beach was full of litter, we missed the sunrise, the water was murky, and in fact, the sun was scorching hot that at one point, we felt as if we were going to be roasted alive. But that all didn’t deter us from having a great time!
The idea of this getaway was originally for us to just relax by the beach and have a lovely time together, but what is Sky Adventure Club without a little physical activity? We drew lines on the sand and used the beach as our makeshift field while we played our own version of American football.
Here’s one thing you should know about SAC: Do not mess with the girls, because we play as rough as the boys even when we’re donned in beachwear. At the end of the game, Ninja was sandy from all the pouncing she did; my broken bracelet was buried somewhere on the beach; and Taboo’s knee was scraped by the sand. But not a word of complaint was heard as we all had the time of our lives attacking each other.
Until next time, maybe?
Signing off,
Chigga
PS: This trip would not have been possible without our amazing organizers Poepoe and Waze.

Mandatory jump shot on the beach
If there is one thing SAC loves as much as adventure, it would be food. Once we’ve found a good spot under a tree, we laid down a mat and started gorging ourselves on the spaghetti, banana cake, chocolate fudge, egg sandwich, and puff bread we brought along for the picnic.
Food! Food! Food!

Ready Set Hut!
After the game, we settled with doing less strenuous activities such as playing with bubbles and making sandcastles. Although we are all supposedly university students, for some reason, it felt just right being silly and doing childish things together which would have otherwise been embarrassing. I guess it goes to show that we were all really comfortable just being ourselves among family members.
Why act your age when you can have so much fun being childish?
At 11am, we started to pack up our things and went back to campus with a happy heart and a smiling face, knowing that there is no Sunday better spent than with our family.
Until next time, maybe?

The Dynamic Duo. I couldn’t resist using a funny picture of Waze. Sorry I’m not sorry.
